A Night of Pink Hope

Good morning beautynistas!  And happy Tuesday, we all know how I feel about Tuesdays.  This Tuesday I am extra bitter towards, mostly because it is also my Monday this week.  Gross, I know.  But I come with some awesome stories of an awesome weekend so we need to chirp up!  (And by we, I mean me).  This past Saturday, Sassy Chic and our sister company You'Nique Chic were lucky enough to participate in such an amazing event that words can not even begin to describe.  But we all know I love to talk, so trust me, I am going to try.

Every year, the "We Believe Foundation", a foundation founded by an amazing and inspiring woman named Sarah Miller, puts on a fundraiser to raise money for young adults with cancer.  Sarah started this foundation years ago when her own son Matt, (who is another truly inspirational young man) at a very young age, was himself diagnosed with testicular cancer.  And from that moment there was a part of Sarah that knew she wanted to raise awareness and help others.  And thus, "We Believe" was born.  The fundraiser is put on as a fashion show, so as if the amazingness of this awesome cause wasn't enough already, with the spin of fashion and beauty, we knew we had to be a part of it.  And on this particular Saturday night, people from all over, of all ages, and of all styles, came together to stand strong and kick cancers ass!!

We want to start off by thanking our fabulous and talented team that helped to make things run smoothly on our end of things, Christie Hurd, Buffy Roman Fox, and Michelle Poore, the makeup would not have been possible with out you guys!  You guys ROCK!!  Moving on, the event was absolutely stunning to say the least.  The hair was rockin', with a bohemian feel that helped to relay a light and flowy mood on such an intense evening.  The makeup was retro with champagne eyes and bold lips with a little pop of Twiggy.  The clothes were on point and lit up the runways with a vintage look of today's style.  But this wasn't just any ordinary fashion show with 6 foot and over models, this show had actual survivors strutting their stuff.  Talk about an inspiration, these women shared their stories and their vulnerability to show everyone that it is possible, there is hope, and there is a future.  All in all the show really captured a beautiful mix of the struggle of the survivors and the positivity of the bright life they still have ahead of them.

After the show, and once all the tears had dried, the awesomeness continued.  There was an auction that everyone could bid on that had everything from vacations to sports tickets to diamonds.  The Auction and the show were MC'd by fashion guru, Paul Wharton who is hysterical to say the least, and really knows how to pick people's pockets..in the legal way of course.  Trust us, there was no one more delightful and charming that could have stood on that stage and carried this event through.  Great job Paul!  Attendee's then also had the opportunity to simply donate money to pay for chemo treatments, medication, medical bills and much more.  After the auction the party really kicked in to gear, and then an after party par-tay.  I mean like I said, this was an event not to miss.  Fashion, cocktails, auctions, and a chance to really make a difference in someone's life..all under on roof.  Count me in, on time every time.

"We Believe" really knocked this one out of the park on every detail, on every story.  They are such an amazing organization that truly aspires to help those in need and with that being said, they as well are always in need of those willing to help as well.  So here at Sassy Chic we encourage you to check out their page or their website, read up a little more about them, their stories, and their cause.  Then whether it is a dollar, a wish, or a even a prayer, please give them a thought and donate in any way you can.  We were so honored and proud to be a part of such an amazing event and we already look forward to next year!
