I can't say ombre is a new thing but I am constantly finding new ways to spice up this look and refresh your locks. New or not, ombre is a color trend that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! (And I am ok with that).. Last night we did a fresh Ombre on my girl Kara Sloman, who just wanted a simple sultry change. She definitely wanted to enhance more blonde in to her darker locks, but also wanted to avoid the streaky-ness that highlights can tend to bring in to naturally dark hair. At this point I knew Ombre was the way to go. To add some flare in to your ombre, have your stylist perfect your perfect dark to light combo by applying the darker color on the root FIRST. Color eventually stops oxidizing, so doing this step first will buy you more time to really let those blonde ends lift to your desired shade. Once the color is evenly applied to the root, with a significant amount of enlightener, paint the ends of the hair and use your hands to slowly massage and blend the enlightener up the shaft. When you get to where the darker color stops massage the 2 together to create the perfect blend. Awesome results!! Check out Kara from XXL Magazine's hot new hair below. Love her. Love her hair!
