Food Beauty: 5 Beauty Secrets You can Find in Your Kitchen

Good Morning beautynistas and happy Wednesday to you all!  Today is a special hump day for me because it is also my Friday this week, but I won't brag.  This is for all you DIY'ers out there, taking at home tricks to a whole new level.  I'm going to shed some light on incorporating the whole do it yourself philosophy in to your at home beauty regimens.  Open up your cabinets and refrigerators folks, if you have coffee, milk. apple cider vinegar, raw honey or strawberries hidden somewhere in there, then you are about to learn some tricks that will shake up your beauty routines for the better.  All of these items can be found at the local grocery store, all are very low in price, and all can drastically change your skin, hair, and teeth.  Check out how each of these every day food and beverage items can keep you looking GREAT!

Apple cider vinegar- This product can double as an ideal natural toner.   It balances the skin's pH just as your every day toner is meant to do. Mix it with water and swipe over your whole face with a cotton ball after you cleanse and before your moisturizer.  Use more water for dry skin and less water for more oily skin.

Milk- Next time you settle in for a nice hot bubble bath, swap out the bubbles for milk. (I know, crazy) Just a few cups will do the trick.   Lactic acid is a natural softener and will help to soothe dry, rough skin that is brought on in harsh winter temperatures.  For an impromptu at-home pedicure, soak your feet in a small bucket of steamed milk.  It will soothe the heels of your feet and help to heal any calluses.

Coffee- Wake your mind up with a cup of coffee and your skin up with the grounds. A coffee java scrub is a natural exfoliator that will get your blood circulating.  It can also shed away dead skin, and reduces the appearance of cellulite. Try mixing a half cup of coffee grounds with olive oil and scrubbing in a circular motion.

Raw Honey- This ingredient can be used for 2 great things.  It can be mixed with equal parts olive oil to condition hair and equal parts oatmeal for a rejuvenating facial cleanser. But even on its own, honey has amazing powers. You can also use honey directly on your face as a mask!

Strawberries-  Ditch the nasty mouth wash, this delicious red fruit can double as a teeth whitener.  Mash them up in to a mush and scrub your teeth once a week with a toothbrush.  You can mix the strawberry mush with baking soda if you prefer more of a lather.
