Let's Talk Fashion: Best and Worst of the Met Ball

Met Ball..Met Ball..Met Ball!!  I can not say it enough.  The Annual Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC's upper west side was held last night and all eyes were on the red carpet.  As one of the most anticipated fashion critiqued nights of the year, many stars came in their best get ups, or should I say what they thought were their best get ups.  With the theme of this year's ball being PUNK, many rocked it and many, well, did not rock it.  Being that Givenchy was one of this years sponsors, a lot of our favorite celebs wore the high fashion brand, but unfortunately, not all Givenchy was good Givenchy last night.

Let's take a look at our best and worst... and be sure to tell us in the comment section who is your best and worst.

Anne Hathaway absolutely nailed the punk themed look last night, from her pompadour inspired blonde hair to the nude makeup, to the dress itself.  She truly rocked the punk!  I die for this.  Anne wore Valentino to last nights ball...making up for that Ocsar snub Anne??

Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, can you please just look exactly like this every day of your life ..forever?  I mean this is by far her best look yet, head to toe.  The subtle smoky eye with her hair pulled back from her face just top the whole thing off.    Taylor's look consisted of a J. Mendel dress and clutch and Givenchy shoes.

Everyone has hated Miley's Marc Jacobs dress, but I must say I am feeling it.  Miley is obviously experimenting with her image overall lately with a hipster meets punk daily routine, and I think this dress suits her.  The hair I will say is slight over kill, she could have rocked her normal
"new do" with the dress and red lip and been fine.

K-Stew, I don't even know where to begin.  I mean she is known for her out landish punk style and this was her chance to really kill it and shine.  FAIL!  I absolutely hate everything about this Stella McCartney pants suit.  The color, the cut, the pattern ..disaster.  The makeup on the other hand, though very run way inspired, is brilliant and I love it.  And that is about the only positive thing I can think so say about this train wreckAlso, we love Rob.

Another celeb that has gotten extreme mixed reviews for her style choices last night, Carrie Bradshaw her self, SJP.  Rocking a Giles Deacon designed dress, I was absolutely in love with this look.  I mean did we expect anything less from the style icon?? I love the mo-hawk inspired head piece and the fishtail braid...It truly pulls this entire look together.  The queen of style still reins.

Though the Material Girl gets an A for the punk aspect, I would like to follow up that comment by saying..What the WHAAA??  I mean really from head to toe, this look is terrible, and not too far off from her looks in the past.  The chains, the ripped hose, the cross and pink shoes...sound familiar??  Though we will give her credit for attempting to wear Givenchy...I guess.

I love Kim K far too much to even comment on this Riccardo Tisci designed dress or say what I think of it and I think that says enough.  At least Kanye showed her some love during his performance proclaiming"Baby you're awesome"I still love you Kimmie!  (in case you are looking for her hands, they are invisible)

Yet another story of  "I die over her on a daily basis, yet do not die over her fashion choice last night".  This Givenchy dress is actually pretty stunning on it's own paired with the studded belt.  So why add the gloves and boots??  They only make her look like she should be marching with some Cinco de mayo band in a small town parade.  I'm sorry Bey, but the add ons were wayyy to much over kill.

I think we are all used to seeing one of the Olsen sisters step out in something terrible, but this might take the cake.  I'm just not even sure what is even going on here.  It seems geisha inspired but springy at the same time, I mean what??  Not your best Ashley, not your best.  Also was there a fan blowing in this pic or is her dress levitating??  Because her hair isn't moving at all..

Nicole Richie..Love THIS!  The hair, mixed with the dark lips mixed with the dress...stunning.  It is a little bit of a mix between goth and punk and she pulled it off fabulously.  I love.

Another celeb passing the test?  Sienna Miller.  Her Burberry gown paired with her studded leather jacket were perfectly matched and couldn't have made a better punk statement.  I even love the 80's inspired side swept hair.  Get it girrrrl.

Though I am not sure what is going on with this dress, quite literally, I do think she looks amaze.  With the loud pattern and strange cuts on this Givenchy gown, it is hard to tell where Amanda ends and the dress begins.  They hair and makeup are on point though and her face looks flawless.

Cameron Diaz looks like a mix between a character from star wars and a smurf.  The over throw layer could have stood to have beem left out of this outfit.  I would have liked it a lot better with just the simple cut of the Stella McCartney gown underneath and the studded belt.  Punk does not always mean over kill ladies..please.
