Sassy {Chic} Beauty: Blue Eye Shadow With Out The MIMI!

First off, I am literally going against everything I believe in makeup wise by even writing this post. I have always, I repeat, always been against blue eyeshadow in every tint, hue, and form.....until now. It saddens me to admit defeat, but ladies Marc by Marc Jacobs (image on left) changed my out look on this whole thing in general. Their models rocked the runways sporting a fancy blue eye that I absolutely died over. I will say, I am still not totally sure I personally will rock the blue, you know with my skin tone and just flat out personal moral makeup ethics beliefs..but I am here to encourage you all to be braver than I. ;)

I mean, WHO KNEW?? I think blue eyeshadow and I think Mimi...I think high school prom....I think of that girl in middle school that wore blue eyeshadow with literally every single thing she wore every single day. These memories beautynistas, are not fond memories. The blue has been pushed to the back of my beauty loving brain all these years with nothing but judgement and disgust. So how is it even remotely possible that my mind was so quickly changed?? I can't even explain it myself. Maybe it is my desperate longing for spring and bright colors, maybe it is me dreaming of summer and bright blue skies....But regardless of the random change of heart and mind, I AM SO IN TO THIS LOOK!!!

Now obviously, blue eye shadow is something to be used with caution. So much so, that it should almost be sold with a warning label in a bright yellow package. It will take much more precision and blending when applying, and it is not something that you want to just paint all over your lid and brow. But throwing in accents of this hot spring color will definitely help to make those eyes pop with shine, no matter what your eye color may be. After seeing the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway, I was inspired to research some more people bold enough to sport this look.
