Say whaaa? Carrie Bradshaw turns 48!

Good morning my friends, we meet again.  Brace yourselves Sex and The City lovers, our very own Carrie Bradshaw turned 48 this past Monday, March 25th!  I know, I am dying too!  So, we wanted to take this opportunity to gush a little bit about our very own favorite style icon.  Ok ok ok, it is not really Carrie turning 48, but the loveable sweetheart that brought Carrie to life, Sarah Jessica Parker.

I mean can you really differentiate the two though?  I don't think about SJP with out instantly thinking of Carrie Bradshaw, and I don't think of Carrie Bradshaw without instantly thinking of SJP.  This leaves many wondering if the curse of Carrie will continuously haunt the furthered career of Sarah Jessica.  I normally would quickly and honestly answer no to this question when referring to any other actress.  Just like I don't think about Bella Swan when watching Kristen Stewart in "Snow White", Rachel when I see a Jen Anniston flick, or "Dawson's Creek" when I see Katie Holmes (now ask me about Tom Cruise and I may have a different answer), that being said, all in all I think most actresses are successfully able to break the image of the character that truly brought their careers to life.  But with SJP it is just different, for reasons I can not even begin to explain.

Who would really want to shake that image though?  Carrie was such an iconic character in so many ways.  She was an independent woman who was still hopelessly romantic.  She was a fashion icon, rotating designers like she rotated her under wear.  And ladies let's be honest, when anyone is asked which SATC girl they are in their particular group of friends, everyone always and undoubtedly answers "Carrie" with out even blinking an eye.  I mean Carrie taught us all to guiltlessly mix and match patterns and over lap fabrics.   She taught us to splurge on handbags or a single pair of shoes evrery now and then, and to always ALWAYS wear heels with everything.  We all in some small way have a piece of her in our hearts. We watched her fall in love, fall out of love, make mistakes, and undeniably fight fate only to end up with her prince in the end.  We love SJP and we love the flare that she specifically brought to Carrie that I honestly don't think could have been managed by any other actress, and we all here at Sassy Chic would like to wish a very happy belated birthday to the always fashionable Sarah "Carrie Bradshaw" Jessica Parker!!!
